Lyons continues to see business growth

Lyons continues to see business growth

The Village of Lyons reported an increase in new business over the past three years and plans to welcome another business, Twilight Party Rentals from Brookfield to Lyons.

Since 2009, Lyons has seen more than 25 businesses open in the local area.

“I am always willing to help businesses find ways to move to our community, said Mayor Getty. “When you have a strong base of businesses, you ease the tax burden on the residents.”

Lyons has also seen an increase in businesses relocating to Lyons from other surrounding municipalities. Twilight Party Rentals from Brookfield is one of those businesses.

Opened for 10 years, Twilight Party Rentals is a full service party rental company, providing tables and chairs, tents, moon jumps, photo booths, outdoor heaters, DJs and more.  Owner Jerry Jones believes his company has outgrown his Brookfield location and is planning to relocate to Lyons.

“When I started Twilight ten years ago, I wanted to be a one-stop-shop for people and was running my business out of my garage,” said Twilight Party Rentals Owner Jerry Jones.  “Over the years, we have grown exponentially; and most recently, we have started to supply equipment for large scale municipal events.”

Jones said due to his growth, Twilight Party Rentals is in desperate need of a larger building and thinks Lyons can provide this.

“I am looking to move to Lyons, they are very pro-business,” said Jones.

Jones said Mayor Getty has been very accommodating and welcoming, taking time out of his busy schedule to speak and meet with him.

Mayor Getty and Jones met early in January of this year to review different areas of Lyons and to explore possible locations for Twilight.

“If a business owner or individual is interested in relocating their business, we do whatever we can to assist in getting them into our community and welcome them with open arms”, said Mayor Getty.

The economy is still down, so we have to work tirelessly in bringing businesses to Lyons and our hard work is paying off, said Mayor Getty.

Since Christopher Getty has been Mayor, Lyons has seen the addition of: Pop’s Italian Beef & Sausage Restaurant, D. Thai Restaurant, Maktrans Trucking, Kemp’s Milk Distributors, Teamsters Local 777 Union, Athlete Within Basketball School, Chicago Registry Restaurant Supplier, WingStop Restaurant, Superior Cartage Trucking, Falafelji Restaurant, Foundations Performance Dance Center, Picos Tacos Restaurant, T-Mobile Phone Store, Oxford Insurance Agency, Farmers Insurance Agency, Superior Ambulance Service, Kopicki’s Funeral Home, Certified Electronics Repair, Madly Pop’n Popcorn Supply, and more.
